Your Home Has Just Been Photographed by the Zaio Corporation...

James Thorner wrote an article called A Home Appraisal in Just 2 Clicks about an appraiser, working for Zaio Corporation, as a photographer, who walks the streets daily toward filling a database to provide "real time appraisals." 

Zaio is set on modernizing a 100-year-old process from 7 days to 30 seconds.  Mark Silverstein is the company's local representative and said they've captured 489,000 homes since April.  These photos will provide an online database for real-time appraisals, bankers and real estate professionals. (and anyone else who's willing to pay) 

Zaio has divided the U.S. into 7500 zones partnering with local appraisers who will assist with the collection and update the data for each zone.  80,000 pictures are fed into this database each day with hopes to complete this project in less than 6 years. 

To ensure accuracy, appraisers will have to revisit every street in person once a year to note any new homes or old homes razed.  Multimillion-dollar mansions are being passed over for this process.  Zaio feels they are generally too unique and isolated to photograph and appraise accurately.

Here's a Few Questions:

• Will this ensure sellers are guaranteed the value due for their property?
• Will this account for remodels or upgrades not listed on the County Tax Records?
• Is this the replacement for "Drive By Appraisals" from years ago?
